Post Holiday Lemmings

A belated happy holidays~ LOL...
I've been surfing and googling a lot of products I've been lemming to try. Most of them are Korean cosmetics and skincare. I got to hand it to them because they have the absolute EXTENSIVE range of skincare. Not just the basic cleanse-tone-moisturize. Most Korean skincare products like SkinFood has around 6 to 8 products per line that ranges to the cleanser, toner, mask sheets, emulsion, serum/essence , eye cream, cream (sometimes with 2 variants -- day and night) and then there's the sunblock, primer, bb cream and all those stuff. Whew, mouthful eh? o.o although I've never used such extensive products for my face. I'm still a cleanse-tone-moisturize girl + derma preparations haha.
Anyway, back to the topic here are some products I've been lemming to splurge on coz...well it's the holidays :)

Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint - eek! it looks so cute and I read that it's a possible dupe for Benefit's Posietint. I'm definitely preordering this from a multiply seller!
Other stuff that are on my want list:
~SkinFood White Grape Fresh Light Pact
~SkinFood Peach Sake Pore Serum
~SkinFood Rice Mask
~Missha M BB Boomer - I have a sample of this and it's absolutely ♥. It works great as a primer and for adding a boost of glow to my (dull) face
~Bare Naturals new 12pc professional brush set-  ooh! gorgeous really.
~Nyx Round LipStick in Orange Soda, Summer Love and Circe

and last but not the least...
Guerlain Meteorites Pearl >.< yeah I want this so bad! But it's just expensive! I've been really debating about this. This is not on my NEED list. But definitely no. 1 in my WANT list. Ever since I saw a picture of this in the in-house Singapore Airline shopping brochure I WANTED one. I would have bought then and there at the airplane but my aunt who was with me stopped me from buying such EXPENSIVE item. Oh sigh! Now, I WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT one, but I'm thinking is it okay to splurge on a single item that costs almost P3000? Or just use that P3000 to buy other stuffS that are more useful to me? Quantity vs Quality I suppose >.<

Why I'm going gaga for BB creams [pic heavy]

I used to have flawless skin since birth until my early college years. I could seriously get away with just baby powder on my face to control the oilies. I would get occasional pimple or two but nothing serious or any major breakout. The only noticeable thing on my face would be my pores... They're visible >.< but apart from that I had no major issues. A pimple or two would appear sometimes but mostly on that time of the month.

Here's a pic I found with nothing on.
:) Yes that's a make-up free look coz on that pic I was just at home and playing with the camera. Haha, based on my hairstyle there, this was taken around the 2nd semester of my second year in college -- late 2007 to early 2008. Those rosy cheeks are <3.
Another pic with no makeup or whatsoever on my face.
Taken July 2008, longer hairstyle and a bit blurry but still with clear skin. Still payat too. >.<
So what's the point of this post? I HAD A MAJOR BREAKOUT, and that is still an understatement. It was MAJOR MAJOR >.< It was humongous, zits were all over my face, particulary my cheeks. It started January of 2010 and continued on until the summer. When it started, it was just around my cheeks, nothing too noticeable. But when summer started, it got worse and worse. They were all over me now and I rarely go out unless I really really really need to, but on those rare times I would pile my face with so much concealer! I was so depressed and refused to get my picture taken. I recall when I was still in high school, I had a nightmare of zits all over my face. What did you know, it came true T.T

Etude House mega-haul!

I convinced my mom to go to Etude House at SM Pampanga :D
It was also my first time to go there and it was huge...well compared to my usual Etude House at SM Megamall where it is so cramped. And guess what, I actually turned my mom to an EH convert! We had a mega-haul inside the store and our purchases totaled to around 3k ._. that's a lot considering how affordable EH's products are.
We left the store with 2 bags of EH goodies.
But guess what, I only had 2 items from that mega-haul XD and the rest are my mom's haha.
Here's what we bought: (no pics sorry, camera still broken -.-)
1. Peach Water Gloss in Watermelon water (mine)
2. Dr. Oil No Shine Mist (mine)
(the rest are my mom's)
3. Moistfull Collagen Toner
4. Moistfull Collagen Essence
5. Moistfull Peeling Wash
6. Lip & Eye Remover
7. LuciDarling Fantastic Rouge (forgot the shade, it's the lipgloss version)
8. Petite Darling (???) Eyeshadow (totally not sure about this, but it's the one worth P148, the color is a nice matte mocha brown)
9. After Slim Cream (haha!)
10. 2 House Shaped Sponges
11. 2 Bath puffs

Whew! And when we came home my mom was raving about EH all night. She was actually comparing it to her own HG brand, Shu Uemura. She kept on saying how their products are quite comparable to Shu but worth a fraction of their price. Her LuciDarling gloss, she says too, are like her MAC lipglass. I do agree with her because the glosses are very pigmented but EH only carry around 10 shades from that range while MAC has a hundred (figuratively I mean XD)

Reviews to follow for the Peach Water Gloss and the No Shine Mist! The visit from EH really got me lemming into other products too. Tsk tsk. I need to update my Chirstmas wishlist now.

till next time,

For Sale: Elianto Natural Mineral Fixing Powder

Putting up a feeler on this one: elianto Natural Mineral Fixing Powder.

I bought it yesterday on a whim >.<
The color from the pan is white but it goes on invisible on the skin. It absorbs oil and sets foundation well. It claims to be waterproof too. Comes with the puff that is slightly used too, the clear plastic film is still there to protect the powder and puff from touching.

Still a feeler though, if no one is interested I might keep it for myself. Comment if you're interested!

P300 only.

Review: GIGA Seaweed Slimming Oil

From GIGA's website:

This easy to use oil has seaweed extract for metabolic stimulation and nutrient rich algae to hydrate and detoxify. No shower needed! The active moisturizing base includes essential oils of lavender and peppermint, olive oil and virgin coconut oil. To provide excellent results, use with our seaweed soap. Use with a body wrap for super firming and slimming.

Slimming in a bottle? Sounds too good to be true? Well, before you slather this oil on your body thinking instant hello to a sexier new you...I think I need to make some few points clear.
  • Putting the oil alone is not enough for the slimming effect. A religious, intensive massage is needed to "activate" the key ingredients in this oil. Google "anti-cellulite massage." That's the technique we're looking for.
  • Slimming is not the same as losing weight. There's no drastic losing of weight in this oil. For that, diet and exercise are recommended.
  • The "slimming" effect actually described is the firming of the skin for the illusion of a sexier bod. Misleading, I know.
Now that I made those points, on to the review. The massage oil has a pleasant smell that lingers for a while. The SA instructed me to use this oil after bath, before working out and before going to bed. To use, massage on the intended areas (for me I massage over the tummy, arms and thighs) for 5 minutes each in a circular motion. I like the sensation as the oil is absorbed by the skin. At first it feels slightly tingly and cool from the peppermint oil but after a while it feels warm. I do not know how to explain it, but I feel like I'm sweating which is a sign that it works since the firming effect is achieved through osmosis.

I've been using this massage oil for less than a month now and I could see slight visible results. But I only work out once a week, though. I should do it more often!

Seaweed Slimming Oil is available at all GIGA stalls in different malls across the metro. I got mine at V-mall Greenhills. It comes in two sizes, a 100mL pump bottle for P265 or 1L bottle for P1,800. I bought the 1L bottle. It is cheaper and I just bought a small spray bottle that I can refill anytime. I recommend other GIGA products too! My favorites are the No Pain balm, Flea Away Pet spary (for my dog) and their yummy selection of soaps. Try out their Shea Butter soap and Seaweed Slimming soap. They also have pure shea butter for sale but I still haven't tried it out. And what's more, this is a Filipino company. Support Pinoy company, not only is it cheaper, its competitive quality actually level that of other imported brands.
